Datamation firmware reference guide
Command line interface
Datamation hubs can be managed using a serial command line interface (CLI). In order to use this, a serial terminal emulator must be installed on the host computer. Examples include Hercules, ZTerm and PuTTY.
When connected to a host computer, the hub will add a "Virtual COM port" to the computer. Once you have installed your preferred terminal emulator, please connect to the COM port using 115,200 baud, 8 data bits, No Parity, 1 Stop Bit.
Once you get a command prompt (>>), you can start entering commands.
The Command Line Reference has full details of all commands, but the most useful ones are:
bd - board architecture and mapping
id - device information; including serial number, firmware version, device id and type (u8, u10, u16, u20)
ledb - direct LED control
reboot - remote board reboot; useful after making NVRAM settings for firmware updates.
state - port mode and state
settings_display - displays the NVRAM board settings
settings_unlock - required for certain NVRAM board settings
